Volunteer at Tanio Bermo
Tanio Bermo is dependent on volunteers to be able to support creativity, businesses and the community in Barmouth. There are many opportunities with different amounts of time and different skills. Below you will see some of them, if they interest you, please get in touch by using the contact form, or email. Please also visit the Facebook page to see more of what goes on.
Ffiws (MakerSpace) Lead: Responsible for opening the space up, supporting people who wish to use the equipment. Teaching people the basics of health & safety, use of the machines, helping them in the event of problems.
"Spare pair of hands": Supports the lead, will have knowledge on some of the equipment and be prepared to learn how to use the rest. Offers guidance to people using the equipment. Familiar with the operation of Tanio Bermo, happy to chat to people about projects, needs etc.
Marketing & Media: Able to support (can be from home) with website, social media, marketing and other process type thing that needs to be in place for Tanio Bermo to run successfully.
"I can do that": Occasional expert help with setting up PCs, tech equipment, electrics, maintenance etc. If we have a list of people who can help out on a one-off basis then it shares the work around and means we get the best people doing things rather than just the nearest person.
Fixers: We are in the process of setting up a Repair Cafe, so if you can mend things (electicals, jewellary, clothes, vacuum cleaners, phones etc) then please get in touch. We'll probably start with about four a year and see where it goes.
Organisers: Do you have ideas for events to hold, workshops that would be popular, projects that could be done? Do you like organising things, arranging advertising, collecting names etc. Tanio Bermo is the perfect space to run small workshops and events, we just need the co-ordinators. This could be for a series of events or a one-off.
Training on the equipment, health & safety and support for all volunteers will be supplied, and we will never ask you to do more than you are comfortable doing.
